Nurturing community: Our commitment to Mental Health Awareness
Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 is shining a spotlight on a crucial mission: to create communities that care for people living with mental illness.
This year's Mental Health Awareness Week carries the theme of Community, a concept that resonates deeply with us at The Behaviours Agency.
Community isn't just a buzzword for us, it's woven into the very fabric of our agency culture. We're driven by a desire to bring happiness to our community partners, and giving back is fundamental to our core values.
One partnership that's especially close to our hearts is our collaboration with Sow The City, a remarkable social enterprise based right here in Manchester. Sow The City is dedicated to a powerful mission: to create greener cities and forge meaningful connections between people and nature.
Currently, Sow The City is transforming an outdoor space at Wythenshawe Hospital.
They're in the process of creating a community garden, a space that will hold great significance for patients, their families, and hospital staff. This garden will be more than just a collection of plants and trees; it will be a sanctuary, a place of calm, and a testament to the power of community. The environment offers a place for social interaction and therapeutic activities that can aid in the recovery process.
These woodland improvements are the start of a wider project called ‘Sawyer’s Saunter’, a plan to make Wythenshawe Hospital greener and more biodiverse. This project is named in memory of Richard Sawyer, a dedicated radiologist who passionately improved the green areas of the hospital.
Sawyer’s Saunter will create a seamless and accessible walking route around the entire hospital site, connecting key outdoor areas.
As part of this transformation at the hospital, the TBA team spent the day creating dead hedges which have started to form parts of a path for everyone to easily walk around this green space.
We believe that by supporting initiatives like this, we can contribute to building a more compassionate and understanding society.
During Mental Health Awareness Week, and beyond, we want to ensure that everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.
