I went to Namibia thanks to the company I work for
Thanks to The Behaviours Agency Employee of the Year scheme, I spent two incredible weeks in Namibia. This country has everything you could want from a holiday, spotting the big 5 on safari in Etosha, discovering the little 5 in the sand dunes of Swakopmund, exploring some insane landscapes in Sossusvlei (land of dead trees) and sand boarding in the amongst the dunes of the Skeleton coast.
How did I manage to wangle this?
Employee of The Year - What's that all about?
Well, The Behaviours Agency agency has an Employee of the Year (EOTY) scheme, where every month the whole agency votes for their employee of the month based on them demonstrating one of the agency values. The monthly winner gets a gift as a thank you and the votes are totted up over the year – the person with the most votes wins the EOTY award.
I was lucky enough (plus a bit of hard graft) to win this amazing prize for two consecutive years, so I needed to decide what I was going to do with my prize! There is only one rule for how you spend your prize money and that is it has to contribute to your wellbeing. So, after a global pandemic, lockdowns and only UK stayca’s I decided a proper holiday was the way to go! (Sorry UK stayca, it’s not you, it’s me!)
I hadn’t heard of many companies doing an employee of the year scheme but they really should consider it. Not only is it incredibly incentivising but it is more rewarding knowing that it is recognition from the entire team, who have seen you living the values of the company: Client Happiness, Team Happiness, Creativity, Curiosity and Get Results.
It also backs up the mission of the agency to be the happiest little agency in the world with wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
Probably the best place I have ever visited
I cannot recommend Namibia enough, this country has it all from adventures, activities, safari, wonderful animals, insane landscapes, amazing people and unbelievable lodges (I’d like to give a shout out to Mark Bratt Travel for pulling this holiday together and completely nailing my holiday brief )
