New Creative Copywriter

We’ve strengthened our content proposition with the appointment of Creative Copywriter, Melissa McPhillips.

Melissa joins our creative team having previously worked at AO.com, where she supported lots of different brands, from Samsung and Microsoft to Nespresso and KitchenAid.

“I love the scope of brands that TBA work with, from luxury interiors to industrials. The concept of shaping shopper behaviour really stood out to me,” Melissa said.I haven’t worked in an agency before, so I can’t wait to get stuck into all sorts of projects. I’m also looking forward to working with some interior brands, which will also be new to me, as I have a real love for them.”

To help us get to know Melissa a little better we put her through her paces with our new starter quiz…

What’s your favourite national or international brand?

Anthropologie is my favourite brand. I love wandering round their store as well as browsing the website and reading their lovely, witty emails. The way they style their clothes and homeware always triggers a little bit of inspiration with me that I either buy into, or try with items I already have.

And your favourite local business?

My favourite local business is a tapas bar and restaurant called San Juan in Chorlton. The food is incredible, and they’ve stayed true to their intimate, authentic roots without trying to keep-up with the crowds. It’s definitely worth the 1-2 hour wait.

Who is your favourite shopping companion?

My mum and I have very similar tastes in style and brands, so she’s a brilliant shopping companion. As well as encouraging me to buy what I really love, she’ll keep my feet on the ground when I’ve got a million and one things on my arm at Zara.

Shopping online or in store?

I prefer shopping online from the comfort of my own home as you can easily compare items from other shops against one another. There seems to be a lot more size options too, especially during the sales. Having said that, nothing beats being able to feel a fabric and see a beautiful colour in person.

Black Friday or January sales?

It feels like a real achievement when you find a gem in the January sales, as there’s less to choose from. Plus, January is a bit of a strange month with the festivities being over, so a spot of retail therapy is always nice.

We recently became the first creative agency in Greater Manchester to achieve Gold accreditation against the sixth generation Investors in People Standard.
