From a gardening club to a book on how to slay creative demons.

This weeks most memorable.

01 — Event

Manchester’s much loved Siop Shop Gardening Club is back. First Saturday of the month, donuts, coffee, soil under your fingernails right in the middle of Manchester. Hard to think of a better way to spend a Saturday.

02 — Campaign

Chupa Chups wrappers. We've all been there. The thumbnail. The teeth. The quiet defeat. Wrestling with a lollipop for decades. So when they finally cracked it, someone made the creative link between wrapper wrestling and actual wrestlers. Lucha Libre masks made from the real wrapper graphics. By the man who makes them for wrestling legend Rey Misterio. Tap out.

03 — Art Collective

Peaceful Research are a Manchester based art collective doing something genuinely interesting. Taking reclaimed automotive parts Ferrari speedometers, BMW bonnets, car doors and turning them into contemporary art. Objects with a previous life reworked into something completely new. Where motorsport heritage meets modern craft. Worth paying attention to.

04 — Book

Creative Demons and How to Slay Them landed on the office desk this week. Richard Holman on every demon a creative encounters, self-doubt, fear of failure, the pull of the safe choice. Every one of us has met at least one. Looking forward to picking this one up.

05 — OOH

A hand painted Coca-Cola Cherry mural in Manchester that stops you in your tracks. Giant 3D cherries climbing a wall. Bold enough to feel more artwork than ad. This is what good outdoor looks like.
